2026 Staffing
Today I would like to officially say goodbye to two staff members who will be finishing up at the end of term. Both Dave and Charli have worked across the school over 2025, warmly and patiently supporting students and extending these relationships to families across the school.
I thank them both for the care they've given to our students and families and the support they've given the staff team. Sometimes with little notice, both Charli and Dave have stepped in and out of many roles, covering staff absence and ensuring our students have always been well supported.
On behalf of the whole school community, I'd like to thank you both for your year at Hesket; we loved having you as part of our team.
Next year we will again have four classes with the following teachers taking each grade and subject:

Grade Six Sleepover - By Izzy
For weeks we had been planning this sleepover, weeks of excitement and anticipation and finally the day came. Soccer matches, water fights, pizza and more. After playing soccer in sweltering weather, disaster struck, every single person got drenched in water. Water balloons thrown, water guns fired, buckets and buckets of water over heads and hoses being sprayed at anyone and everyone. No one was safe. After getting drenched Ms Aulich and Zoe locked themselves inside (for their own safety!) while Stacy was left alone to fight for herself. Banjo, Hudson and Leo protected themselves with buckets on their head, meanwhile Ada was trying as hard as she could to spray anyone with the hose. It started as a civilised community and ended up in chaos but was so much fun and an amazing experience.
Pillow Case Project Incursion – Gr 4-6 Students – By Jasper and Caitlin
On Friday the 28th of November, we had two visitors, Margot and Ann from the Australian Red Cross. The reason they visited was to teach us about what to do in an emergency – and what to bring with you. They showed us a video about how pillowcases can be the perfect bag to carry your needs and wants in an emergency. A pillowcase is perfect because it can fit a lot of things in it, and it is good to store your needs and wants. Most people have them in their houses or have easy access to a pillowcase. We discussed what might be our needs and wants, and things we don’t really need to bring. We went off and decorated our pillowcases with fabric markers and brainstormed what we might need in our emergency pillowcases. We learned a lot and are very grateful for the Australian Red Cross for visiting the Grade Four to Six students! (And for the little teddy bear they gave us!)
