Tee Ball - Hannah L
Last Wednesday, Ayla, Zoe D, Hillary, Heidi, Sienna, Hannah A, Hannah L, Aurelia, Ivy, Caitlin M and Amy went to the State Tee Ball Final in Wheelers Hill. The day was full of fun, laughter and excitement. We were all icy cold from the wind and rain while we competed against La Page Primary School and Ivanhoe Grammar.
We scored 5 runs in the first round and in the second round we made 3 runs. We were so proud to make it that far. All of us were cheering from the sidelines, “Catch that ball!”, “Don't fumble it.” We were so lucky to have lots of tee ball practice at school but there were still new rules we needed to learn to play at the State level.
The only bad thing was the traffic on the way there and on the way back! Thank you to Bri, Mrs Turner and Stacy for coaching us. A big thank you to Ms Aulich and Lydia for driving some of us all the way there and coaching us through the games..jpg)
Tournament of Minds - State Final - By Amy and Heidi
On Sunday the 13th of September 2026, our two Tournament of Minds (T.O.M.) teams went to the State Final of T.O.M.
The day was busy and stressful, but then the fun completely took over, making it the exciting day we all hoped for.
In the State Final of T.O.M, each team competing was led to a room with limited resources, one supervisor, and three hours to complete an unseen and incredibly difficult challenge. These challenges are fun-filled and are 100 percent require hard work and team effort.
We all had to work together to create an original performance best suiting the challenge all teams were given. Both teams were given the three hours but had different challenges to complete in the given time. Both teams were incredibly successful. The Arts Team, including Hannah A, Aurelia, Zoe D, Micah, Jasper, Annabel and Ayla received Honours in the Primary Arts division. The Language Literature team, including Heidi, Hillary, Harvey, Woody, Amy and Ivy, received first place and the right to represent Victoria at the International Final in Darwin!
We are thrilled with this outcome and bursting with pride, but unfortunately it is also incredibly expensive so for the next 6 weeks we will be looking for donations to help get us there. Any financial help would be exponentially appreciated. Thank you.
HESKFEST - By Caitlin T and Maggie Pape
HESKFEST, a lovely short film festival, was written, directed and filmed by Paul Canlan and performed by Hesket students.
We had such a fun few weeks planning, practising and acting with our friends. It was exciting, funny and entertaining for all of us and our parents - it’s amazing how much effort everyone put into their films! Everyone put so much character into their roles. We were delighted to show you and everybody else our INCREDIBLE films.
All these special films were inspired by us; the Hesket students. There were four short films. One, with hilariously serious comedy crime. Another, with adventure, clues and an ancient jewel. The other two included spies, walkie talkies, adorable aliens and a crashed rocket.
We’ll also like to give a big shout out to Paul for filming us all and for being our script writer.
It was fantastic to see everyone walk down the red carpet in their glamorous outfits on the night, we felt proud of all our efforts and acting.
